I’m not a huge football fan, but I am a big fan of cute food, especially food that looks like it took some time and effort when it really was as easy as can be. This is where these cute football deviled eggs come into play. They’re basically deviled eggs with thinly sliced fresh chives arranged to look like laces on a football.
While the original recipe for these football deviled eggs can be found at MyRecipes.com, you probably don’t even need it. The real treat with these Superbowl snacks is the way they look. So, feel free to skip the recipe and use your tried and true deviled egg recipe and just add the chives trimming. Or, if you’re feeling a little experimental and want to try a new recipe, this one is a great little twist with a spicy sweetness that’s pretty unexpected. To accomplish this they include mango chutney and ground red pepper. While you may think this sounds divine, you may also be inspired to create your own twist on the deviled egg, and why not, it’s a simple hors d’oeuvres that can be made pretty quickly, especially if you preboil the eggs, so why not experiment and make them all unique.
